Trex has been manufacturing composite decking, railings and cladding for over 24 years. Trex products manufacturing technology

Trex composite decking, railings and cladding are made up of wood and plastic. Trex products are 95% made up of recycled materials. The decking is made in the form of terrace boards, which resemble wooden ones. Recycled industrial packaging, bags and bubble wrap are used to create plastic wrap. Sawdust and wood chips are used to create the wood component. The company prides itself on the fact that they did not cut down a single tree to produce their decking.

Trex Decking and Railing Collections

Trex Transcend collection

There are three types of boards available within the Transcend collection. Each board profile is available in different lengths: 12ft, 16ft and 20ft:

• 1 inch square-shouldered board with screw mount;
• 2 inches square-shouldered board with screw mount;
• 1 inch grooved edge board with hidden mount.

Fascia is available in two sizes:

• 0.56" x 7.25" x 12′;
• 0.56" x 11.375" x 12′.

The collection is available in three styles:

• European: discreet, minimalistic, elegant. Colours for the Trex Transcend collection in European style: Gravel Path, Rope Swing, and Vintage Lantern.
• Tropical: bright, relaxing, exotic. Colours for the Trex Transcend collection: Havana Gold, Island Mist, Lava Rock, Spiced Rum, Tiki Torch.
• Lineage: luxurious, on-trend colors: Biscayne, Rainier, Carmel and Jasper.

In addition to decking boards, the manufacturer offers the Transcend Railing collection for railings.

Trex Enhance collection

There are two types of boards available within the Enhance collection. Each board profile is available in different lengths: 12, 16 and 20 feet:

• 1 inch square-shouldered board with screw mount;
• 1 inch grooved edge board with Trex Hideaway mount.

Within the collection, you can choose fascia in two sizes:

• 0.56" x 7.25" x 12′;
• 0.56" x 11.375" x 12′.

The collection is divided into two types:

• Enhance Basics. It comes in three colours: Beach Dune, Clam Shell, Saddle.
• Enhance Naturals. Available in colours: Coastal Bluff, Foggy Wharf, Rocky Harbour, Toasted Sand, Sunset Cove

Trex Select collection

There are three types of decking to choose from in the Select collection:

• 1 inch square-shouldered board with screw mount;
• 2 inches square-shouldered board with screw mount;
• 1 inch grooved edge board with hidden mount.

Depending on the shape of the terrace, it is possible to choose 12ft, 16ft or 20ft boards (365 cm, 487 cm, 609 cm).

Square boards are fixed with screws. The grooved boards are installed using the Trex Hideaway mount system. That is why the decking looks neat, as it does not contain any screw holes.

Fascia is available in two sizes:

• 0.56" x 8" x 12′;
• 0.56" x 12" x 12′.

The collection is available in five colours: Madeira, Pebble Gray, Saddle, Winchester Gray and Woodland Brown.

White railings are the main feature of the Trex Select collection. They add elegance and luxury to it.

Trex Decking price

The price of Trex decking boards is influenced by their length and the collection. Trex Basics decking is a cheap option with a starting price of $30 per piece. The most expensive collection is Trex Transcend. Its price ranges from $74 to $123 per board.

Trex decking maintenance

Trex decks require minimal maintenance. All boards from the Transcend, Enhance and Select collections require only water and soap to clean. Washing of earlier collections Accents, Origins, Contours, Profiles and Brazil is needed to use special cleaners. It is recommended to clean the decking every six months. Trex deck boards maintenance manual:

• Surface debris can be simply hosed off;
• Hard water traces can be removed with white vinegar;
• Dirt can be removed with a soft brush and warm soapy water;
• Concrete, cement and plaster can be removed with Sakrete thinner;
• Ice and snow can be removed with a plastic shovel;
• Traces of food, grease, oil and mould are cleaned with soapy water.

Trex decking warranties

Trex's residential products are covered by a Limited Residential Warranty for 25 years. For commercial offers, the limited warranty lasts 10 years. This means that the manufacturer is confident that during this time the decking will not be damaged by walking, water, heat, dust and other natural factors. Trex decks have an extra layer of fade protection. Limited Residential Fade & Stain Warranty is offered for 25 years.
